I have been doing a fair amount of test knitting over the pandemic, and not only has it been fun, it’s resulted in a fair number of FOs. This is important for me, as I am a very “shiny object” type knitter with a woeful collection of UFOs.
Our October designer is Mary O'Shea. I learned about Mary while traveling in Maine this summer and liked her mitten and hat designs. Mary is from North Orland, Maine and recently retired as a middle school science teacher.
Our September designer is Kacey Herlihy. While traveling through Maine this summer, I discovered Kacey's Leftover Cowl design and was interested in learning more about her.
Congratulations to all our members who won ribbons at this year's MN State Fair! We can't wait to see all your
entries at our State Fair Review in September.
Last November, the Guild participated in Give to the Max Day, which is Minnesota's annual day of giving for non-profits and schools. Our campaign was about growing our #TightKnitComMNity, so we are using funds raised through our Give to the Max Day effort to create a new micro-grant initiative.
Our designer of the month is Betsy Preston. A local talent, her hats particularly might come is useful for our service knitters! They sure look sized right and cozy!
It's like a treasure hunt to find us as we're located at the back of the building. Folks don't realize we're back here. We used to be in Suite 114 (current location of Appleberry's Attic) and anticipate moving into Suite 101 once more of the pandemic protocols are relaxed. That should make it easier to find us.
