Last November, the Guild participated in Give to the Max Day, which is Minnesota’s annual day of giving for non-profits and schools. Our campaign was about growing our #TightKnitComMNity, so we are using funds raised through our Give to the Max Day effort to create a new micro-grant initiative. These micro-grants will allow individuals and knitting groups to create their own community-led programming.
Some ideas about how these fund could be used are:
- Supplies to teach knitting at a school or library
- A yarnbombing event with your knitting group
- Planning or attending a knitting event
- Hiring a knitting related speaker for an event
The board is always amazed at the creativity of our members, so we are looking forward to seeing how you think these funds could be used in your community to connect to other knitters and grow the knitting community.
Guild members may apply for up to $250, and the Board will review applications monthly.
