Can you believe it’s almost time for the State Fair and Labor Day is just around the corner?! Where did summer go? The good news is that means it’s almost time for Yarnover 2023!
The MKG and Yarnover are completely volunteer run, so we need your help to make Yarnover 2023 a success. Sign up for a volunteer shift (or two) now!
Registration for classes, the Opening Night Social and Sampler, and Game Night closes on September 13th. If you aren’t already registered make sure to get in soon. A handful of classes have already sold out and a few more are down to just a couple seats.
If you are already register, make sure to check your class listing for homework and supply information. Look for an email a few weeks before Yarnover regarding handouts and other details. If you want to add a second class or one of the evening events, you can just register for them separately and we’ll merge your registrations. Registered for Friday night and want to add a Yoga for Knitters session? Email us at membership@knitters.org.
Of course, you don’t need to be registered at all to come shop the Marketplace on Saturday. The Marketplace is open Saturday from 9:00am – 5:30pm and we have two-ballrooms full of great vendors. Check them all out here.
Also don’t forget about the Yarnover Shawl Contest. Have your Yarnover Shawl photographed at Yarnover to be entered. All the details are on the Yarnover Events page.
The September Guild meeting will be part of Yarnover weekend on Sunday, September 24th from 10am – 12pm and it is one of our favorite meetings, the Fair Review. Come show-off what you entered in this year’s state and county fairs and admire the work of others. You do not need to be a member to attend the meeting, but if you want to participate in the review, please sign up in advance.
If you are planning on staying at the Crowne Plaza over the weekend, make sure to reserve your room by September 1st to get our room rate. To book online visit the Crowne Plaza website. When reserving a room under Rate Preference pick Group Rate, then enter code XC5. To book by phone call 1-855-914-1303 or the hotel directly at 763-559-6600 and ask for the Minnesota Knitters’ Guild Yarnover room block.
Finally, looking to carpool or share a room over Yarnover weekend? We’ve started a thread in Ravelry for people to connect.
