Our January Yarn Shop of the Month is MUSE2320 located in Hastings, Minnesota. MUSE2320 focuses on small batch, hand dyed yarn color collections that are always changing. Check often to see what color story Sara is working on, each collection is made to work together for your project.
Sara learned to crochet sitting on the floor in front of her Grandma Pete, watching her hands in the reflection of a mirror. Sara is a leftie and she was a rightie. That Christmas, Sara covered the tree with crocheted spiral ornaments – and she laughs today knowing her parents loved her enough to let her. Fast forward 10 years to college where Sara took fine arts courses like painting, drawing, and printmaking . . . where the thread to her past pulled hard and she integrated sewing and fiber every chance she could. Fiber Arts has always been fundamental and compelling. No matter the twist and turn of the path, her footing is in fiber.
Outside of hand dyed yarns Sara likes to feature workhorse yarns that are durable and price approachable. Lopi for exterior garments and colorwork. Berrocco bases that can be used for larger projects where hand dyed seems too costly, as well as Nori and some self striping yarns. MUSE2320 also carries many gift ideas for the fiber lover in your life as well as kits for project inspiration. They also carry their own line of tea Muse Brews.
As the color stories are told, Sara crafts themes related to art and story. She will be releasing annual subscription boxes in 2025 with themes for Grimm’s Fairy Tales and The Solstice and Equinox. These subscriptions allow you to receive a color story right to your home on a monthly or quarterly basis.
A favorite project created for Knit or Crochet is the Headwaters project bag, as well as the hood project featuring a combination of Suri Alpaca/Silk and Slub yarn dyed in a variety of colors.
