Topic: Anatomy of a Project: Taking Your Project from Start to Finish
Susan will start with a brief overview of her knitting journey. She will then describe the planning process she uses to launch a project from start to finish. She will discuss edgings, finishing, and blocking throughout as well as answer questions.
Bio: Susan Rainey learned to knit as a child and loves it more every year. Knitting offers so much variety and challenge -- there is always something new to pique your interest. For Susan, knitting is more than a past-time, it is a passion.
Susan especially loves the technical side of knitting, seeking ways to improve the look of her knitting by matching the right technique (increases, decreases, shaping, seaming, design, etc) to any pattern or problem. Her knitting expertise has been rewarded often at the Minnesota State Fair with numerous ribbons, including eleven Sweepstakes Awards.
Susan teaches knitting classes locally at The Yarnery in St. Paul. She also shares a knitting blog with her equally obsessed sister, Sally, called The Rainey Sisters. She continues to work on improving the quality and quantity of her yarn stash.
