The Textile Center and its affiliated guilds will be meeting in the next couple of weeks to discuss how the guilds can help support the rising costs of running the library. It currently costs the Textile Center about $35,000 a year to keep the library running. The Minnesota Knitters’ Guild has helped support those costs in the past by paying $1 per member per year and paying a guild membership fee to the Textile Center. This has allowed our members to check books out from the library for no costs beyond their MKG membership. The MKG also supports the library by purchasing books and periodicals to keep the knitting section of the library up-to-date. Those books can be checked out not only by MKG members, but members of other guilds or the Textile Center.
This survey is to help us understand how and if MKG members use the Textile Center Library, so we can go into these meetings accurately representing our membership.
